Camogli fish festival

The Fish Festival of Camogli is one of the most famous ancient traditional festivals in Liguria.
It is held every year on the second Sunday of May in the square of the tourist port, Piazza Colombo, where the largest pan in the world, throughout the day, fries tons of fish for its guests.
Due to the large influx of visitors it is suggested to arrive in Camogli by sea by boat.
On the eve evening, for San Fortunato who is the patron saint of fishermen, the religious celebration and the burning of the bonfires made by the inhabitants of the two Porto and Pinetto districts take place.
They challenge each other by building some large sculptures made with waste material, including old furniture, broken boats, old shutters and everything they no longer need.
